How we prepared for the DPA / GDPR

SafeTTy Systems Ltd already had a high level of data protection and security, but we introduced new measures to ensure compliancy with the DPA / GDPR.

Policies and Procedures: we have revised data protection policies and procedures to meet the requirements and standards of the DPA / GDPR and any relevant data protection laws, including the following:

  • Data Protection. Our main policy and procedure document for data protection has been revised to meet the standards and requirements of the DPA / GDPR.
  • Data Retention and Erasure. We have updated our retention policy and schedule to ensure that we meet the “data minimisation” and “storage limitation” principles and that personal information is stored, archived, and destroyed in accordance with our obligations. We have procedures in place to meet the new “Right to Erasure” obligation.
  • Data Breaches. Our procedures ensure that we have safeguards in place to identify, assess, investigate, and report any personal data breach as early as possible.

Information that we hold about our customers and potential customers

When you contact us (via the Contact Form on our website, or by phone, or by any other means – such as at a trade show), we may collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.

The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law.

We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998).
